Gray Matter Interactive

Gray Matter Interactive Studios, Inc. was a computer game developer founded in 1994 by Drew Markham, Greg Goodrich and Michael "Maxx" Kaufman, and acquired by Activision in January 2002. Gray Matter used to be known as Xatrix Entertainment, Inc..
Towards the end of development for ''Call of Duty 2: Big Red One'' in 2005, Gray Matter was merged into Treyarch, and the team responsible for titles like ''Return to Castle Wolfenstein'' is no longer recognized by that name. Some of the Gray Matter team still resides at Treyarch, although its founder and several executives from the former studio have found employment elsewhere.
